The flight begins at the Zambezi Helipad and gently joins the stunning Batoka Gorge at Rapid Number 8, affectionately called Midnight Diner by rafting enthusiasts. From here, the helicopter gracefully follows the roaring river as it courses through the canyon's narrow depths—some sections are only about 30 metres wide, creating a breathtaking scene.

After soaring over the Falls, the adventure continues as you head upstream to Long Island. Here, the Zambezi becomes a broad, winding river, full of islands and alive with diverse wildlife, making it a truly mesmerising experience.

What to Wear

When packing for your trip, opt for light summer clothes since it can get pretty hot, and don't forget to bring a sweatshirt or jacket for the cooler winter days. This way, you'll stay comfortable and enjoy your time without any worries!

Don't forget to bring your camera, along with some money for the park fees and any photos or videos you'd like to capture!

Guests or Spectators

The Zambezi Helicopter Company collaborates with M.A.R.S. (Medical Air Rescue Service) and other medical air rescue organisations to offer vital medical evacuations and case vac services whenever emergencies occur in the remote areas around Victoria Falls, ensuring prompt and caring assistance.

This includes landing in the Batoka Gorge and in Zambezi National Park to assist with accidents and help injured individuals reach medical facilities in Victoria Falls or Hwange (100km) if needed.

This means they get to regularly work with the M.A.R.S. team, practising how to safely load and unload injured individuals and ensuring helicopter safety during approach and departure from a working helicopter.

If your flight is affected by a medical emergency, don't worry — they will happily reschedule it for you.

If this isn't possible, don't worry—you'll receive a full refund for any payments you've made.
